I use it in Arathi Basin sometimes.
Yeah, if you're at the Lumber Mill and you want to check out the Gold Mine, it's situationally useful in Arathi Basin. Otherwise... Not really worth an action bar slot.
they should have gotten rid of eagle eye and let us keep eyes of the beast. Eagle eye's basic effect can be gained by countless items and it's very rarely used
It's more useful than eyes of the beast though. They're both marginally useful but eagle eye is clearly the more useful of the two.
Don't make threads like this... this is how we lost Eyes of the Beast...
Oh man, please don't make posts like this, you never know what Blizzard might do next. It has great uses in bgs. Its used to gain information and then either report it in chat or respond to it yourself. Its helpful to see what types of classes are going to attack a base so you can be prepared to press the right cool downs if need be. Its a terrific spell, buts its only really used in PvP

with pet classes being awesome point defenders in rated bg's, eagle eye will be an invaluable recon tool when you're sitting at stables or farm and can help direct your team by calling out weak spots. half of it's usefulness is in being communicative with your team.
Eagle Eye?
Screenshots, mostly.
Also, helping with Defense in Wintergrasp.
Exploring new Cata zones to see if a rare spawn is active.
Exploring new Cata zones because I am bored.
Spying on Undead hunters in UC from IF.
The usual.
/cast !Eagle Eye
Use it and be amazed.
I use it in WG every game to see if a workshop has been left unguarded. I imagine it'll be equally useful in Tol Barad (and the other new BGs).
I am using it now to explore and see how much the lands have changed.
It helped me find a way across the damn scar in barrens, for example.
Basically, it saves you a leg trip when you want to check questing locations (is that the right hill...?), rare spawn points, enemy movement in BGs etc
The next time you wonder what's in front of you? !eagle eye it.
Besides the above usage its also useful for camping people go perch up on a ledge and use eyes of the beast where you killed them at... Seems kind of mean I guess...
Yeah, battlegrounds, and exploring outdoor raid instances/taking screenshots.
Also, I once eagle-eye'd (with !Eagle Eye) all the way from mid-stranglethorn to... I think around Dun Morogh. Pointless, but fun.
So the ! let's you chain it?
/cast !Eagle Eye

QFT, I use this to scout everything.
Cap the mine? Where too next? Easy to see with that macro.
It's also pro for tracking horde, rare mobs and checking Goldshire before ruining in and finding 50 horde.
I some time track the horde world pvp'in, check them out in armory and making better gear and et selections before I run in and pwn.
What everyone else has said pretty much. Using it !eagle eye in AB/EotS is amazing. If you have any number of partners, !eagle eye, find a weak node and go and cap it. It lets you spot out weakspots in their/your own defense. In saying all this tho, i'm seriously surprised I don't see more hunters using it. If i'm ever defending a node, you can bet I'll be spamming it, scouting round.
Also, if you're defending BS in AB, place eagles eye on the tip of LM where the flag is, and depending on what you have your view distance set to, you can see as far from stables right across to farm pretty much, giving you a whole scope of the map and who's where etc.
